Social Media Marketing Tips For Every Business

Social media marketing is one of the most effective ways of reaching a massive amount of prospects and potential leads without destroying your budget. If you’re just posting on social media, but not monetizing your pages—you’re missing out in every direction. Not only that, if your target audience is interacting with your closest competitors and you’re nowhere to be found, they will more likely gravitate to those other business and invest in their products and services. Here’s how to dominate the attention of your audience:

Tip#1: Take Advantage of Live Video

Companies who incorporate Live Video will experience higher engagement than video alone. Studies have proven that 80% of social media users would rather watch live streaming videos than read a standard blog post. If you're unsure of what to livestream, consider offering a special promotion or an exclusive sale. If you’re going to a trade show, conference, seminar or even a job fair, make your live streams interesting and interactive. Make your viewers wish they were there.

Tip#2: Post, Post, Post, and Post More!

Don’t scale back on posting once your social media ad campaign is up and running. It is important to realize that your followers are possibly following your competitors and other companies as well. So, it is extremely important that you are posting regularly. Your frequency counts as well. Posting only three times a week or even 5 times weekly isn’t going to help. If your competitors are posting two or three times a day and you’re barely posting, your followers are going to see their posts more often. Companies that post once in a blue moon will automatically fade into obscurity.

To prevent this from happening, simply schedule a social media calendar and pre-schedule your posts in advance using a social media posting platform like Hootsuite (premium). If you can’t handle posting and managing your social accounts on a regular basis, that’s a sign it’s time to hire a social media consultant.

Tip#3: Choose a social media management platform.

Previously, we mentioned using a platform like Hootsuite. A good SSM platform will allow you to not only schedule your posts in advance, it will allow you to login in and collaborate with your team members. You should be able to view your social media feeds on one dashboard. You should never have to log into separate accounts to post. You’ll also be able to view and download your analytics in real-time. You can only accomplish this with a good SSM tool.

Tip#4: Make your first impressions count!

Your website should be aesthetically pleasing across the board, on all devices. It should be easy to navigate and browse, especially if you plan to do any kind of lead generation via Facebook or ads on other social platforms. All of your social media pages should be uniform. The content should also be engaging and easy-to-read.

Tip #5: Don’t sell, just tell.

When people scroll their timeline, the last thing they expect to do is buy something. So, make sure your marketing is telling a story they can relate to. Be captivating. Your written text should be short and conversational—speak their language. Use unique photos or videos that are eye-catching.

Lastly, when you implement and execute the tips above, you will begin to notice an improvement in your overall online presence.
