AmeriList Inc. Welcomes aboard Joy Contreras
Apr 19, 2010 - Pomona, N.Y. – Ravi Buckraden, President of AmeriList, Inc., announced today that Joy Contreras, formerly of Boutique List Services, will be joining AmeriList as Senior Account Executive of New Business Development effective immediately.
Joy Contreras, a 30 year plus veteran of the direct marketing industry, uses her well-rounded expertise overseeing the sales and marketing efforts for her clients. Joy’s 20 years of expertise as a catalog mailer
will expand the marketing services currently offered by AmeriList, specifically concentrating on circulation planning, promotional strategies and list brokerage and management.
Twenty of the aforementioned years were spent as List and Circulation Manager for Lillian Vernon Corporation; responsible for house file segmentation and list rental acquisition for the mailing of
approximately 165 million catalogs annually. In addition to their core catalog business, Joy was responsible for successfully launching many of their specialty catalogs such as Lilly's Kids and Christmas Memories.
During that time, Joy was also responsible for the successful in-house list management of all the Lillian Vernon list rental files, as well as their package insert program (which Joy successfully launched in 1983).
In Joy’s last year with Lillian Vernon, list and package insert revenues had broken all previous records.
Joy then joined Edith Roman Associates where she successfully spear-headed a consumer division within a B2B environment. Joy was responsible for acquiring and managing over 30 accounts (in both management
and brokerage).
Some of Joy’s clients have included Frontgate, FAO Schwarz, Bally Total Fitness, Wine Enthusiast, Grandin Road, Avon by Mail, The DeSantis Collection, Comfort Corner, Improvements (HSN), Johnston
and Murphy, SeaBear Smokehouse and Care A Lot Pet Supply. She will be joining AmeriList with list management of Olive Juice Kids, Colorado Pen Direct, Tennis Life Magazine, MultiCultural Review and
Journal of Pediatric Dental Care .
Joy is an active member of the DMA, HVDMA and the Direct Marketing Club of N.Y., and therefore has
many contacts within our industry. During Joy’s 30+ years in direct marketing she has developed many
personal relationships, has compiled a personal database of approximately 500 list brokers, and knows the
mailers they work with.
Joy has been a featured speaker at several DMA conferences and was honored and recognized in 1997 by
The Woman’s News Newspaper as one of the “40 Under 40 Exceptional Women in Business”
