AmeriList - Database Hygiene and Data Services

Database Hygiene

Keep Your Data Fresh and Clean!

Address deliverability can either make or break your campaign. We can help you update your customer addresses prior to your next mailing by using any of our postal processing products - National Change of Address (NCOA), Delivery Sequence File (DSF), or Locatable Address Correction System (LACS). We understand how crucial fresh information is for a direct marketing campaign, so let us help keep your data updated. This is what database hygiene means.

Take Address Integrity Seriously!

The most important aspect of any direct response marketing campaign is that your prospects actually receive the materials, right? Updating your address information prior to mailing will significantly reduce undeliverable pieces, saving you time and money.

Postal Processing Services

Update addresses of those people in your database who have recently moved. National Change of Address (NCOA) helps qualify your mail for significant postal discounts. Keep in touch with customers: get more of your mail delivered, which can easily boost response rates.

NCOALink Processing

Over 44 million Americans move every year. How many took the time to let you know? Probably few, if any. What happens to the accuracy of your database? NCOALink can keep your database up-to-date by not only identifying who has moved, but also providing the new address. AmeriList partners with a Full Service Provider Licensee of the United States Postal Service (USPS) for NCOALink.

What does this mean to you?

  - We access the largest NCOALink database available, going back 4     years and containing over 160 million records that change daily.

  - We deliver fast turn around time (same-day and next-day service),     because we know that time is crucial in direct marketing.

PCOA (Proprietary Change of Address)

Use PCOA in conjunction with NCOALink to discover even more change of addresses to update your mailing list.

Unlike the NCOALink file, which is maintained and controlled by the USPS, the PCOA file is a compiled file that is created from multiple private companies and sources. Approximately 26 sources are used in creating the PCOA file, featuring nearly 150 million change-of-address records for the past 4 years. We have seen great results with PCOA. On average, we can provide you with 50% - 75% more moves than our competitors.

DSF2 (Second-Generation Delivery Sequence File)

A big question facing mailers is proving a given address is a valid address. DSF2 (identifies deliverable addresses and specific addresses) is a data file that contains all domestic addresses serviced by the USPS. Each address is a separate record on the file that conforms to all USPS addressing standards.

The individual address records include ZIP + 4, carrier route, delivery sequence, delivery type and seasonal delivery information.

We take our client file and process it against the DSF2 file. This process will produce a match or a no-match result against each record, and are described by a series of footnote codes. No DSF2 address information is provided without referencing an existing address on the original list.

The DSF2 process does not provide change-of-address information. As our clients use our DSF2 services, it helps reduce the amount of undeliverable-as-addressed (UAA) pieces, which saves money, and results in more efficient mailing programs.

LACSLink (Locatable Address Conversion System)

Locatable Address Conversion System (LACS) service provides mailers an automated method of obtaining new addresses when a 911 emergency system has been implemented. 911 address conversions normally involve changing rural-style addresses to city-style addresses, but in some instances conversions may result in the renaming or renumbering of existing city-style addresses. Address Management Systems (AMS) offices across the country collect and transfer information for this database to the National Customer Support Center in Memphis, TN.

LACS benefits include the following:

  •   - Reduces undeliverable mail by providing the most current address information for matches made to the LACS file.
  •   - Prevents the need for duplicate mail pieces or re-mailings after address corrections are received, since the address correction is applied prior to the mailing.
  •   - Lowers mailing costs by reducing the number of undeliverable and/or duplicate mail pieces by using the most current address information.
  •   - Provides the opportunity for faster product/service marketing through accurate mail delivery.

AmeriList offers LACSLink processing as a stand-alone product, or combined with other services such as NCOALink or DSF2.
